Macroglossum semifasciata is a moth of the Sphingidae family. It is known from north-eastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, south-western China, Vietnam, Malaysia (Peninsular, Sarawak) and Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan).[2]
The wingspan is 65-70 mm. The abdomen upperside has very small yellow lateral patches and prominent black patches. The palpus is grey and the thorax underside darker. The abdomen underside has ill-defined buffish-grey mesial patches on the proximal segments. The hindwing upperside base is more extensively black than in similar species.
